Executive Committee

An Executive Committee (also known as the Board of Trustees) is responsible for the governance and direction of policy for the sport. The committee members are on different rotational basis from the membership at an annual general meeting. This is broken down in to:

  • four representative trustees of the UK (This is broken into England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland) will retire every 3 years
  • three trustees will represent corporate or Specialist these will retire every year
  • the remaining seven Trustees who carry out core activities within the WDSA (UK) board will retire at a staggered rate of 3 Trustees every 4 years

The Wheelchair Dance Sport Association is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee and as such all Executive Committee members are trustees of the charity as well as directors of the company.

A structure of sub-committees sits below the Board to advise strategy to the board and carry out certain prescribed activity on behalf of the association.
